Doosan Digital Innovation (DDI) announced on May 27 that it will hold a cybersecurity forum on the theme of 'AI for Security, Security for AI' at the Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul in Jung-gu, Seoul on May 28.

DDI organized this event to explore corporate-level countermeasures against increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks using AI technology and to share insights. In particular, it will include global cybersecurity trends gained from attending the 'RSA Conference 2024' held in San Francisco earlier this month, and the content of the panel discussion between DDI Vice President Robert Oh and IBM Consulting Senior Vice President Mohammad Ali at the 'IBM Think 2024' event held in Boston last week.

As AI technology has advanced recently, cyber attacks have also become more intelligent and sophisticated, making it often difficult to detect them in advance. In particular, many companies in manufacturing, finance, distribution, and other sectors are becoming targets of deepfakes, phishing, ransomware, and supply chain threats using AI, and as attack methods diversify, the scale of damage is increasing.

At this forum, cybersecurity and consulting experts will speak, focusing on the current status and prospects of the AI-based cybersecurity market and strategies to defend against it.

The forum will begin with a welcome speech by DDI President Justin Park, and Thaís S. Teixeira, author of the management strategy book 'Decoupling' and professor at UC San Diego, will give the opening speech. This will be followed by lectures on △The Present and Future of Cybersecurity Strategy (DDI Executive Director Lim In-young) △Perspective on 'Priorities to be Considered by Chief Information Security Officers (CISO)' (McKinsey & Company Senior Partner Richard Lee) △Introduction of Cases of Responding to Cyber Attacks Using AI Technology (Doosan Bobcat Team Leader Han Sang-woo).

In addition, executives from DDI's cybersecurity partner companies will participate as speakers to provide insights. Eric Nagel, JPAC Regional General Manager of Cybereason, DDI's IT security partner, will introduce cases of cyber attacks on major corporate infrastructure and emphasize the importance of cybersecurity. Jason Pierce, APJ CTO of Claroty, DDI's OT security partner, plans to discuss implementation plans to strengthen cyber resilience and its impact on business. The event will conclude with an encouraging speech by Lee Ki-ju, Chairman of the Korea CISO Association, and closing remarks by DDI Vice President Robert Oh.

DDI Vice President Robert Oh said, "As cyber attack threats using AI are becoming increasingly sophisticated, companies need to continuously update the latest information and insights on this," adding, "We will continue to play a leading role in the IT and OT security fields and develop ways to safely protect enterprises."
